 Over the weekend I had an issue with a ceiling fan outlet that was sparking. My Father unhooked the wiring leaving me with very little power on my top floor. I called Bernie Electric on Saturday during the COVID19 pandemic and had a call back within half an hour, a follow up to schedule an appointment within 15 minutes, and an electrician at my house ASAP even though the company was closed due to social distancing (protecting their employees as well as their customers). Tim, Michael and Terry were all wonderful to deal with, they were very professional, kind and took the time to explain the issue and follow up to make sure I was happy with the service. I look forward to working with them regarding a couple of other issues and would highly recommend them if you are looking for an electrician.

 We have just had the last of the knob and tube removed from our home. If anyone is contemplating having this kind of work done, I highly recommend Birnie Electric. This is a top notch company with employees who have a strong work ethic, professionals who are knowledgeable, informative and caring, from Michael our liaison person to Derek and Terry, wizard electricians skilled at magically removing knob and tube - wall whisperers - all around nice people working for this company. If you were to ask me "is my home safe", it is a resounding YES. I feel like a weight has been lifted.

 Had a very pleasant experience with Birnie Electric to resolve a big electric mess in my new home. Right from initial assessment to finishing the job, it has been nothing but pleasant. Starting with the initial assessment by Michael (who is the radio voice on 1010 AM for this company), followed by an ERA (Electric Risk Assessment) by Alex (A superstar on this team!) followed by Shane and Austin, and Samantha, the experience was very pleasant and professional. This was a big electric job, as the previous owners had not considered any building code. The panel needed to be changed and there were multiple trips happening as we moved in and we could not have light in some parts of the house. Alex completed the ERA and came up with a roster full of items that had to be fixed as per code all over the house and the garage (Wires were hanging open and loose all over). Alex and team did the panel upgrade. Shane and Austin who were with Alex arrived promptly on the scheduled dates and ensured we were educated along the way of what was installed in the house . They replaced every bulb in the house to LED and installed my fancy light fixtures (Thanks Shane and Austin. You were patient in putting it all together and voila my house shines..Lol). Alex has been very kind, patient and thorough and we have come to trust him for advice on all our electric requirements. He had to return the following day for a scheduled ERA as we had no steps in the house to the first floor (due to renovations). He handled this without any remorse and was quick to call Samantha and have the assessment rescheduled for the following day . That really set the tone of how this company really looks out for you. I have no hesitation in recommending Alex and Birnie electric if you want a job well done and with the assurance that your house is safe.  I was having issues in the old part of Oakville with brown outs which totally screwed up my electronics. Birnie Homesafe installed a whole house surge protector about a year ago and I have never again had an issue. I’ve had them back to do additional work since and find their electricians are professional and courteous. Highly recommended.

After 2 telephone conversations with other electrical companies simply to test the landscape, it was a no-brainer to contact Birnie Electric. The electrician, Alex, first did a review of our job so the day he returned it was full steam ahead. Austin, one of the shop guys was great too.
