 Got a ticket and tried to get it reduced. Unlike in Calgary (where it's pretty much automatic that you'll get a reduction if you ask for it) you're gonna want to prepare a sob story that will pull heart some heart strings or you'll most likely have to pay the full amount. I didn't succeed in getting anything since the cop gave me a break with a lesser fine but still worth trying. You'll get asked about your marital status, where you work, if you have kids etc. to gauge if they can cut you some slack. I'm an honest working man so I didn't lie to try to get out of the ticket which was bs to begin with. Good thing is they let you pay with credit card and didn't charge any extra fees for doing so.
