| Description | Julia is a skilled advocate with experience in a variety of matters including insurance defence and coverage, product liability claims, and contractual disputes. Julia brings a practical approach to resolving her clients’ legal problems by providing frank and timely advice. She regularly provides coverage advice and litigation support to insurers in various areas, including commercial general liability, professional services, product liability, directors’ and officers’ insurance, and cyber insurance. She is Preferred Counsel to LawPro, which provides errors and omissions insurance for Ontario lawyers. Julia represents clients in a broad range of insurance, commercial and environmental disputes and has extensive experience defending personal injury claims on behalf of municipalities. She has acted as counsel in a successful application involving a multi-million dollar contractual dispute and assisting counsel at a three-week trial in a successful environmental contamination claim. A creative thinker in managing the litigation process, Julia is a strong supporter of the use of alternative dispute resolution processes. Julia enjoys giving back to her community. She is Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Law Day Committee which organizes a program aimed at educating elementary and secondary students about the role and importance of the law and the justice system. She also regularly participates as pro bono duty counsel, advising Ontarians who cannot afford legal services. Prior to joining Clyde & Co., Julia was a litigator at a major international law firm. |
