| Description | I assist in resolving disputes. This sometimes involves starting a lawsuit but it doesn’t always have to. Prior to studying law I obtained a degree in painting and worked as an executive director of several non-profit educational and social justice organizations in Halifax, Nova Scotia. These experiences taught me the power of developing creative solutions to difficult problems. I can now apply this practical training to my clients’ concerns. The most active part of my legal practice is in the area of contractual disagreements ranging from payment on a contract, an invoice or a promissory note to complex litigation arising out of interpretations of contracts or commercial leases, breaches of contract in the context of goods or services provided, partnership disputes, and shareholder and creditor remedies. I also assist my clients with: – estate disputes – guardianship applications – disputes in regard to acting under a power of attorney – real estate problems – wrongful dismissals (either as an employer or an employee) – issues arising out of non-competition clauses – construction liens – guarantees |
