My mother has been at Acorn Glen for three months now and loves it! We looked at seven Assisted Living facilities altogether (some facilities multiple times) and Acorn Glen was the clear front runner. Her studio apartment is quite spacious, has beautiful views out three windows, is quiet, and has individually controlled heat and A/C. Mom likes the “Princeton” feel of this facility, its home-like feel, and how staff and management have been quite friendly. The whole facility is clean and well maintained. She was blown away on how often the staff checked in on her initially making sure everything was OK. I was blown away on how helpful the maintenance staff was in helping us move Mom into the facility (like installing a wall-mount TV). All of us in the family liken Mom staying at Acorn Glen to going on a cruise ship (we’ve been on many) – you have your own room, a Dining Room with three meals a day, a formal snack time typically once a day and informal snack time anytime; and varied activities throughout the day that you can do or not do (it’s your choice). At meal time, there are always two entrees offered (in addition to a standard menu of things like sandwiches, etc.) In all honestly, Mom is “hot and cold” on the food. She either raves about it or complains about it (like the vegetables not being cooked enough, or not enough protein, even though residents can have multiple entrees if they wish). Mom likes Acorn Glen’s activities of card playing, bingo, The Price Is Right game (with prizes), browsing in their big library, attending in-house concerts, and participating in various arts & craft classes. Even though she has a car at Acorn Glen, Mom even participates in their regular field trips to the supermarket (ShopRite), area restaurants (Hooligans), movie theatres (she last saw Lion King), and local attractions (like a platoon boat trip on Mercer Lake). My family and I couldn’t be happier that things worked out so well for Mom at Acorn Glen.

Me mom loved it there. Its not staff that come to work at Acorn Glen, Its family. She was well cared for, food was good, and many activities they can participate in. A gem in our own back yard.

I need to place my husband in an assisted living facility as a respite stay as I went away on business. He recently just had a knee replacement and I could not leave him alone, he needed around-the-clock care. The administrative staff went above and beyond to make sure all of my needs were answered and that my husband would be in the best hands he came in for a 4-week respite and I must say he had absolutely zero complaints, as a younger man I was a little nervous to place him in an assisted living even if it was just for a short period of stay and he absolutely had a blast, from the wide range of activities to the excellent cooking done by the chefs in the building he will definitely be returning there again for his next surgery recuperation they also mentioned to me that they have a home care which I may be needing to utilize. All the staff there were very attentive of my husband's needs, I would recommend this place to anyone.

Found Acorn Glen when my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness and I needed to move her close to me quickly but knew I would not be able to provide the nursing care she needed on my own. They accepted her on a week's notice, gave her a comfortable and homey apartment, and looked after her medical needs; they allowed me to stay with her and to bring in the extra care she needed as her condition progressed. When my father faltered with Parkinson's disease two years later they took him into a homey apartment and allowed him to live as independently as he could while looking after his medical needs. As these changed they moved him to a new apartment where they could more closely observe him, and then once again to an apartment where they could always be close by as he needed them. When he took an acute turn they again allowed me to stay with him, and the aides and nurses cared for him with tears. My mother in law chose Acorn Glen as soon as it became apparent she needed help in case of falls and keeping up with the tasks of daily living. She managed her own medical care at all times since she was capable of that. She passed when she was ready with all her family close by in this cozy apartment near to our home. The aides and nurses that cared for her were the same ones that cared for my mother and my father, which says everything about job satisfaction and quality of care. This facility helped all three parents live with dignity and pass surrounded by love,
