 Fishing boats have always fascinated me, and the Purse Seine Nets of the maritime provinces in Canada are no exception. I found it odd that employment in fishing and fish processing tends to be seasonal and much of it part-time. Half of the fisherman registered in the Atlantic region, 2/3 of those in the Pacific region and 3/4 of those in the central region receive the larger part of their income from sources other than fishing.
