I highly recommend Thomas MacKay. He was able to meet with me very quickly and led me in the right direction when I found myself in a position to hire a family law lawyer - but I wasn’t sure exactly what I was supposed to do. Tom is very understanding and offered different options and opinions regarding my case.
He deals with my unexpected matters quickly and efficiently. He always answers my calls and emails promptly, and he takes the time to explain everything to me so I understand exactly what is happening. Tom is very down to earth and he is a great lawyer to have on your side.
Mr. MacKay fights for what's right. I had another lawyer advise me to settle out of court, but after talking to a few acquaintances, I wasn't sure that was the right move. I was referred to go see Mr. MacKay, and he wasn't afraid to go to court for me. He fought for my rights as a father, and in the end, I ended up with a very fair settlement in front of a judge that provided me with more access than I was already getting (my ex wanted me to have less), shared custody for all decision making purposes, and a very reasonable schedule that provides clarity for both parents and no arguments regardless of the holiday or special event. He even did it so that it was fair and affordable. I highly recommend Mr. MacKay to represent you in any family dispute.
Tom helped me during a stressful custody case. I was orginally advised by CAS to file court papers myself. The person assigned to give me advice steered me wrong. Within a short amount of time Tom fixed the errors I made and took the matter to court. Dispite the fact that my case was quite unique he was able to work with the judges to find a satisfactory result. His fees are quite reasonable. I reccomend him to friends and would not hesitate to contact him again if i am ever in need of lawyer.
