| Description | Nigel established his first law firm in 1997 and has been practicing law for more than 20 years. He has appeared before all levels of Court throughout Alberta, and is familiar with all forums of Dispute Resolution. He is committed to maximizing client recovery, minimizing client exposure and realizing optimal outcomes. Nigel proudly considers himself first and foremost an advocate, and this has been his passion and a consistent theme throughout his professional career. He is also a skilled negotiator, with practical knowledge of how to best meet his clients’ needs, and the most appropriate forum in which to do so.
Nigel has also been employed as a Consultant with an International Insurance Broker/Risk Management Firm. Viewing the practice of Law from different perspectives has provided Nigel with unique insight and understanding of how to best resolve his clients’ legal matters. Nigel was a Faculty Member and Panelist in the Legal Education Society of Alberta Seminar, “Cohabitation and Pre-Nuptial Agreements” in May, 2012. Nigel and Cindy Lee, co-authored the paper, “Challenging the Validity of Cohabitation and Pre-Nuptial Agreements in Alberta”. In January 2014, Nigel was also a Faculty Member and Panelist in the Legal Education Society of Alberta Seminar, “Constructive Trusts”, authoring and presenting the paper, “Defending an Unjust Enrichment Claim in Alberta”. Nigel is a Mediator/Facilitator with Family Settlement Services. He also occasionally provides seminars to various Calgary communities on the topic of “Separation and Divorce” through Calgary Legal Guidance. |

There was a negative review done by my ex Robert Tarta about 8 months ago.
He now resorted to hijacking my name and anyone who he feels that is supporting me in this matter. May of this year an order was put in place to have Robert refrain from contacting or using social media to harass my lawyer Mr. Montoute or any opposing lawyers that are involved in this high conflict matter.
Nigel has been my counsel from day one and continues to be.
