| Profile | Cindy has practiced family law since coming to Calgary in 2010. Prior to that she completed her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Alberta and her law degree at the University of Ottawa in 2009. Cindy advocates for her clients in all aspects of separation and divorce including property division, common law separation, custody disputes and in negotiating prenuptial and marriage contracts. She has successfully advocated for her clients at the Provincial Court level, the Court of Queen’s Bench, and in private mediation and arbitration. Cindy’s particular interest in family law is in helping clients find practical legal solutions during a difficult time in their lives. Cindy’s practice extends to helping her clients prepare Wills and to estate planning. She also completed her mediation training in 2016 and is happy to mediate family law disputes to help parties settle their issues outside of court. Cindy has been a regular presenter for Calgary Legal Guidance and continues to volunteer with the organization. Cindy completed her ARCT Performer’s diploma in piano from The Royal Conservatory of Music in 2009. She taught the piano to elementary school students during her time at law school and has volunteered her time entertaining residents at an assisted-living care facility in Calgary. In her spare time Cindy enjoys travelling, taking ikebana classes and playing golf. Cindy speaks Cantonese and Toi Shan. |

I would highly recommend Lindsay Ewens-Jones and her team. Lindsay is very knowledgeable and is able to communicate clearly the pros and cons of each available option. She responds quickly when situations arise and seeks the best possible resolution. Lindsay genuinely cares about her clients.
Unfortunately, due to an extremely long divorce process, I had the opportunity to work with a number of the lawyers at this firm. Every one of them was exceptional. I felt like my needs were addressed and my expectations were managed well.
This was the second law firm I hired and I can confirm that you get what you pay for. The hourly rates with Jones Divorce Law were higher but there was no dithering. Once we decided on a process the lawyers were quick to complete what needed to be done on my end. I believe that even at the higher hourly rate I saved money over staying with my previous lawyer who had a tendency to draw things out so not much was achieved for my money.
I highly recommend this firm.
Lindsay and her team were extremely professional with my divorce process. They were very fast with responses and knew what they were doing. Since this was my first time hiring a lawyer for personal matters I believe her rates may have been on the higher end, but I suppose you get what you pay for. Definitely recommend Lindsay.
