| Description | Donna M. Turko Q.C. has been practicing Criminal and Administrative law since 1992. Turko & Company accepts all types of Criminal law cases from common assault to murder, theft to white collar crimes, Charter and complex litigation, trials and appeals including to the Supreme Court of Canada. Donna is one of the most experienced prison law lawyers in BC and is familiar with parole hearings, all prisons proceedings and Faint Hope hearings. We are also experienced in Customs matters and other Regulatory offenses. We are proudly dedicated to Social Justice cases.
In 2017, Donna was honored to have received the Harry Rankin Pro Bono award and to be appointed as Queen’s Counsel. Donna has been invited to speak at CBA, TLABC and Judiciary conferences as well as the Inns of Court programme. She has been an instructor at UBC Law School. She has been a member of the Advisory to the the Judicial Council and CBA Access to Justice committees, and is currently on the Government Relations committee and the Editorial Board of the CBA’s Bar Talk. She is also currently on the Advisory Board for C-DAS ( criminal defense association), the National CBA Sentence and Release committee and a mentor at the UBC Innocence Project. |
