Fishing boats have always fascinated me, and the Purse Seine Nets of the maritime provinces in Canada are no exception. I found it odd that employment in fishing and fish processing tends to be seasonal and much of it part-time. Half of the fisherman registered in the Atlantic region, 2/3 of those in the Pacific region and 3/4 of those in the central region receive the larger part of their income from sources other than fishing. The docs along the Halifax port were crowded with fishing boats and eager captains to explain the good and the bad about their chosen profession. @nautical_images #nautical_images
