| Description | Lou’s interest in immigration law is borne out of his own immigration experience. He spent time in Singapore, the US, and France. As an immigrant to Canada himself, he has intimate knowledge of the immigration process. His exposure to different systems and cultures deepened his appreciation of cross- and multi-jurisdictional issues, whether in immigration, business, or litigation.He aims to combine his knowledge of immigration law with his experience in civil litigation to the benefit of his clients. Having dealt with employment law matters, he also aims to bridge the needs of his immigration law clients in the Canadian employment context.Lou is trained in both civil and common law. During law school, he was involved in various organizations including Capital Rainbow Refuge, OUTLaw, and the University of Ottawa’s Asian Law Students Society. Lou is fluent and litigates in English and French. He is also provides services in Tagalog, and has intermediate proficiency in Spanish.Outside work, Lou loves to travel and aims to cross at least one country per year off his list. He enjoys karaoke, a good book while sitting in a park, video games, and good music. |
