| Description | My practice is in employment, human rights and labour law. I have assisted my clients throughout the course of the employment relationship: contract negotiation, workplace investigations, bullying andharassment, and dismissal . I have a particular passion for cases involving human rights violations or breaches of privacy. I also represent unions in labour arbitrations, access to information requests, labour relations board and all other proceedings.Prior to joining HHBG, I did a diverse range of legal work for non-profits, from grassroots advocacy and community organizing in Montreal to drafting legal arguments on refugee rights for the Israeli High Court. I was a student clerk at the Quebec Court of Appeal, and an articling student for the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario. I bring these experiences with frontline legal advocacy, top-flight legal research and intimate knowledge of courts and administrative tribunals to my practice for workers and unions.I graduated with multiple awards from McGill’s bilingual faculty of law and was valedictorian for my undergraduate class at Concordia University. I believe strongly in giving back to my community through pro bono work. At the BC Civil Liberties Association, I volunteered on challenges to electronic surveillance and religious discrimination. I was the youngest member on the board of the Montreal Holocaust Museum Centre, and was a director for McGill’s Human Rights Working Group.When away from my busy practice, I like to spend time with my wife and newborn son – preferably near a large body of water. My grandfather, whose name I carry on, was a labor activist in Brooklyn’s garment sector in the mid-20th century, and I’m proud to be continuing the family tradition. |
