Ray now serves primarily high net worth clients involved in divorce or family law proceedings. Ray is particularly adept at handling cases involving business interests and tax issues. Ray has conducted many Queen’s Bench Court trials and argued a significant number of appeals before the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal.In 2016, Ray was appointed by the Law Society of Saskatchewan to act as Commissioner of the Legal Aid Commission of Saskatchewan, the governing body of all Legal Aid offices in the Province of Saskatchewan. He continues to serve in this role as a Commissioner of Legal Aid Saskatchewan.Ray also provides legal services for businesses, including incorporations, shareholder agreements, purchase and sale of businesses, and reorganizations, often done with tax planning strategies in mind.Ray provides related services to clients in the area of wills, estates and trusts, including the development and implementation of estate planning initiatives designed to maximize the transfer of wealth from one generation to the next, minimizing tax in the process.Ray’s estate litigation practice includes taking legal action for the protection or advancement of the interests of family members who have a claim on the estate, interpretations of wills and preservation of estate assets for the intended beneficiaries.Ray also handles a steady volume of real estate transactions, both commercial and residential. |
