| Description | Lawrence is Director of Claims at Intact Public Entities where he manages the Claims Department. He has been a respected legal professional having completed his Master of Laws (LLM), and developing a diverse legal experience. After articling at a prominent full service law firm, he continued his litigation practice in Toronto as part of an international company’s in-house litigation team. He has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, Financial Services Commission of Ontario, LAT, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board/Appeals Tribunal, and various administrative tribunals.He successfully completed his LLM in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. Prior to his Call to the Bar, he obtained his Juris Doctor (JD) degree at the University of Windsor. He received his Masters of Arts (MA) in International Relations at the University of Amsterdam. He graduated cum laude and obtained his Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons.) in Political Science at York University’s Glendon College.He has been an active member of the OBA’s Insurance Law Executive since 2014 and the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA). He was Chair of the Insurance Law Executive and the present Vice-Chair of the CCCA (Ontario). For three years in a row, he has also been involved with the OBA’s Law Day program coaching high school students in Ontario. The OBA started Ontario’s only province-wide mock trial tournament for students in communities across the province. In addition, he is also a member of the Canadian Defence Lawyers and the Advocates’ Society. |
