| Description | I am a partner at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP and I specialize in resolving tax disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Before joining Davies, I was Senior Legal Counsel at the Department of Justice (DOJ) where I acted exclusively for the the CRA regarding tax litigation matters. During my 19-year career at the DOJ, I litigated several hundred tax cases spanning a wide array of complex taxation issues before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and in responses to Supreme Court of Canada leave applications.
I have argued many notable court decisions, including Imperial Tobacco Canada Ltd. v. HMQ, 2011 FCA 308, Swirsky v. HMQ, 2014 FCA 36, and Tolhoek v. HMQ, 2008 FCA 128. |
