| Description | Moshe Grunfeld is a senior associate in BLG’s Toronto office and a member of the firm’s GCR100-ranked Competition, Antitrust and Foreign Investment Group. His practice focuses on all aspects of Canadian competition and foreign investment review law, including mergers and acquisitions, cartel investigations, private actions (including class actions), advertising and marketing practices, abuse of dominance and other reviewable trade practices.Prior to joining BLG, Moshe was a Competition Law Officer in both the Monopolistic Practices Directorate and the Policy and Advocacy Directorate of the Canadian Competition Bureau. In these roles, he was responsible for investigating allegations of anti-competitive conduct, including several prominent abuse of dominance and civil competitor collaboration cases. He was also involved in litigated matters before the Canadian Competition Tribunal and Federal Court of Appeal. Moshe was the Competition Bureau’s lead on cooperation agreements with other federal and provincial law enforcement agencies aimed at enhancing joint enforcement activities in relation to cartel and other Bureau investigations. He was also a co-author of the Competition Bureau’s FinTech Market Study Report, which examined the competitive landscape for Canada’s financial services sector and made recommendations to Canada’s regulators and policy makers. Moshe has particular experience in the grocery, telecommunications, broadcasting, automotive, data services and digital economy sectors.He is a member of the Criminal Matters and the Legislation and Competition Policy Committees of the CBA National Competition Law Section.
